Area / Habitat
The area in which we conduct our tours is without doubt one of the most scenic in Southern Africa.
We are based in the heart of the Garden Route, a narrow strip of land between the Tsitsikamma mountain and the Indian Ocean. It is a world of dense indigenous growth, mountains, forests, lakes, estuaries and golden beaches.
Over the mountain we enter the little Karoo – an arid semi desert area with spectacular scenery. Our longer tours take you over the forbidding Swartberg mountains into the Great Karoo another semi desert area which contrasts Karoo bush covered plains with rugged impressive mountains.
The area is malaria free, the climate temperate along the coast and warm to hot inland. It is sparsely populated, safe and possesses good roads
The whole region but for the towns along the coast is sparsely populated and one can travel for kilometers without seeing another human being or human habitation.
